I absolutely hate you all strong nail queens. As I started changing clothes today (yes, just fabric, and not even denim, just fleece), I felt something pulling at my thumb nail. Turns out OPI has failed me, and the actual Nail Envy is only being felt by me. I’m being punished for the hubris of thinking I could grow long nails without Nailtiques 2, so this is my reality check.

Fudge. I’ve been there too many times to count. I’ll pour one out for your little keratin homie.

I’m always catching my thumbnails like that! I’ve had really great luck with the IBD brush on gel resin from Sally’s. It’s saved me. I even just did a repair job earlier this evening.

  4. I had a minor side snag the other day and was able to file it down enough to make it ok. Is there any hope? If not, I feel like something happening to the thumb is better than one of the other fingers. Sorry, not trying to downplay anything here! I’ve had my setbacks and I know how much it sucks! I’ve been blaming Mercury in retrograde for the dumb shit that’s happened to me this past week 😏

This happens to me often and I’ve been successful with using the tea bag method until it gets long enough to file down! There is hope for you!!!

  6. you’re not alone! my thumbs almost always break at this exact point and it’s so frustrating. sometimes i’ll be able to go a good while without it happening but it sneaks up on me and breaks again. both of my thumbs broke last week and are currently patched up with glue right now. it’s sucks having brittle nails, i can never be a long nail girlie for very long

I see the teabag method has already been recommended, if you’re feeling brave and skilled, ive had better luck with the cotton ball method though it is more annoying and time consuming, my nail was able to grow out a break like this without any issues.

Essentially you just get cotton fibres from a cotton ball, nail glue and build a layer over the break, then file it down to not be too bulky
